November 1, 2023Extensive flooding and damage during the 2013 monsoon season necessitated an emergency response to the stormwater infrastructure in the area of Centennial Parkway Channel West in Las Vegas, Nevada. The remediation efforts were completed using construction manager at-risk (CMAR) delivery in time for the 2014 monsoon season.
Timely Delivery of Emergency Remediation
CMWorks, A Kleinfelder Company, was selected to provide construction management and coordination, inspection, document control, and schedule review for the City of Las Vegas due to its experience with CMAR delivery. This emergency project included precast reinforced concrete box storm drains and related infrastructure, pavement removal and replacement, storm drainage enhancements, pavement markings, and the addition of guard rails. Due to the annual monsoon season, this project was fast-tracked by the City so that design and construction could be completed in time for the next potential flooding event. The overall project was completed two months prior to its scheduled delivery date.
Project Results
Stormwater remediation services can be time-critical in areas that experience regular flooding events. Noting the project sensitivity, CMWorks, A Kleinfelder Company, helped to deliver completion of this project two months early to the City of Las Vegas.
