November 1, 2023The Bruce Woodbury Beltway, also known as the 215 Beltway, is named for former Clark County Commissioner Bruce Woodbury, who served for 28 years. This portion of the project involved construction of mainline roadway and flood-control facilities along 2.5 miles of the Beltway.
A Renewed Beltway Section
CMWorks, A Kleinfelder Company, provided construction management services for the demolition of the existing roadway and related features and construction of the new roadway and features. The project included the removal of the existing roadway and facilities, extensive mass grading, the placement of roadway and drainage features, the construction of a concrete bridge, installation of overhead sign structures and pavement markings, installation of lighting, and traffic control systems. Due to the urban environment, the project included strict rules regarding the removal of materials/waste, and additional air quality requirements.
Project Results
The Bruce Woodbury Beltway – Decatur Boulevard to North 5th Street project was selected as a 2017 Project of the Year by the American Public Works Association (APWA) Nevada Chapter in the transportation category, over $20-million construction cost.
